Responsibilities
This Accountant position involves performing a wide range of accounting duties in accordance with established procedures, including financial reporting, intercompany transactions, general ledger, accounts receivable, customer billing, accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements, fixed assets, and tax reporting. The candidate must also be capable of communicating in English, including with internal systems and global teams.
Accounts Payable
- Review and process employee expense claims (verification and payment)
- Invoice review and payment
- Preparation of journal entries and analysis of general ledger accounts
Accounts Receivable
- Confirm and apply incoming payments
- Billing and revenue recognition
- Manage accounts receivable, unbilled accounts receivable, and aging
General Accounting
- Monthly closing activities related to assigned responsibilities
- Preparation of related financial reports
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned areas
- Set up and manage general ledger accounts and department codes
- Fixed Assets Management
- Support in the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and reports
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns
- Provide documentation to external auditors and support walkthroughs
- Participate in financial and other system implementations or upgrades
- Support the controller and other team members as needed

Education / Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in English-based accounting (including sales and cost-related functions)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (GP preferred, SAP and Oracle experience is a plus)
- Native / Native level Japanese language skills.
- Business level English language skils (conversational skills required).
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong sense of responsibility and effective time management
- Ability to communicate well with others and carry out responsibilities smoothly at the company, team, and individual levels
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges beyond assigned tasks (opportunities for additional responsibilities may arise depending on performance)
- Proactive mindset for improving and enhancing existing business processes to boost productivity
