On-Site Public Safety Support Engineer

Responsibilities

 

As member of the Operational Team, the on-site software engineer is the key element for the maintenance of our products and the follow-up of our end-users. By having an irreproachable attitude and presentation, he/she will be the first image of the company presented to our customers and end-users. He/She will be able to speak the professional language and understand the needs of the emergency world.

 

He/She must tackle all the questions, issues and problems that may happen on our operational environment. Able to travel in Belgium and close countries, the application engineer will be present on production sites for user assistance and preventive maintenance. He/She will be involved in the guard duty.

 

Of a curious nature, he/she must be able to learn by himself/herself. This position is the starting point for any future evolution inside Hexagon. Acquiring an in-depth knowledge of our products and their usage is mandatory for reaching any other functions.

 

More specifically, we need someone for the French speaking part of Belgium. The on-site aspect of this job requires that he/she must be able to move from site to site around the country.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Implement and maintain HEXAGON solutions into customers production environments;
  • Provide first and second line support;
  • Be involved in the guard duty service;
  • Work on Incident resolution & reporting and identify temporary and long-term solutions;
  • Provide customers support in the implementation and usage of the HEXAGON products;
  • Deliver high quality standards services;
  • Maintain and develop personal effectiveness;
  • Insure products and solution quality excellence;
  • Customer satisfaction focus;
  • Service Level Agreements satisfaction focus;

Education / Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software maintenance is mandatory;
  • Knowledge and administration of WEB sites and services is mandatory;
  • Knowledge and administration of Operating System (Windows Server and Desktop) is mandatory;
  • Knowledge of database MS SQL Server 2012 or higher and/or Oracle 12c or higher;
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages;
  • Initiative and dynamic attitude, team player;
  • Able to plan and carry out by his/her own multiple work assignments while respecting deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Stress resistant;
  • Languages skills: French and English are mandatory (Dutch is a plus);
  • Knowledge of the emergency world (Police, Fire Brigade, Civilian Protection…) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch, GIS, Radio, and/or Telephony software experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes is a plus;
  • Car driving license is mandatory;
