Responsibilities

The Principal Product Leader for Information Management will define the product vision and strategy for Hexagon’s IM portfolio, spanning SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), SmartPlant for Operations (SPO), SDx, and SDx2. This role is responsible for shaping how engineering information is created, governed, and delivered across the Design, Build, Operate, and Protect pillars; ensuring interoperability, scalability, and a cohesive customer experience.
This leader combines deep product acumen with strong technical and commercial awareness. They will guide the evolution of the IM portfolio from on-premises and legacy architectures to SDx2, a multi-tenant SaaS solution, leading one of Hexagon’s most significant transformations. Success requires balancing innovation with business continuity and driving measurable outcomes such as ARR growth, portfolio health, and customer adoption.

  • Define the IM Product Vision – Establish the long-term vision and strategy for SPF, SPO, SDx, and SDx2, ensuring alignment with Hexagon’s platform strategy and the Design, Build, Operate, and Protect pillars.
  • Grow ARR and Drive Commercial Performance – Accelerate ARR through customer migration, SaaS adoption, and strategic pricing. Monitor pipeline, win/loss trends, and portfolio performance, partnering with Sales and Services to convert maintenance contracts to subscriptions and strengthen competitive position.
  • Streamline Customer Migration – Simplify the transition from legacy IM products to SDx2 by removing barriers to adoption and reducing complexity for customers. Define migration paths, tools, and services that protect existing investments while making modernization intuitive, low-risk, and value-driven.
  • Advance the SDx2 Platform and Interoperability – Lead SDx2 evolution as the next-generation IM foundation, ensuring performance, extensibility, and seamless data interoperability across lifecycle phases.
  • Engage Marketing and Industry Analysts – Partner with Marketing to shape positioning, messaging, and launch strategies. Collaborate with industry analysts to strengthen Hexagon’s visibility and reinforce leadership in Information Management.
  • Engage Customers and Partners – Represent Hexagon’s IM strategy in key accounts and partner ecosystems, building trusted relationships that inform product direction and accelerate adoption.

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise software, ideally within engineering or asset lifecycle domains.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-product strategies and balance technical, commercial, and organizational considerations.
  • Experience in modernizing on-premises enterprise products to SaaS or cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing product financials, ARR growth, and portfolio performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, commercial, and executive levels.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience with Hexagon IM products (SPF, SPO, SDx, SDx2) and/or competitor solutions.
  • Delivery of multi-tenant, cloud-native Information Management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data and integration services.
  • Knowledge of EPC, O&M, or industrial asset lifecycle workflows.
  • Experience leading customer migrations from on-premises to SaaS.
  • Proven success driving adoption and growth in enterprise transformation programs.
