Senior Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will have primary responsibility for all aspects of financial close, taxation, audit, insurance, banking, fixed assets, and credit & collections. Your strong organizational and planning skills will enable you to meet tight deadlines, while your flexibility allows you to adapt to any challenge that is presented. As a critical thinker, you will not only manage current processes but also challenge the status quo and drive process improvements. 

 

As a senior member of our Finance team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing monthly financial loads and preparing various financial reports
  • Performing month end processes, including banking, multi-currency revaluation, fixed asset reporting, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Preparing and filing annual corporate income tax returns and related tax reporting
  • Leading internal and external audit engagements
  • Reviewing revenue recognition to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Reviewing and following up on general ledger reconciliations prepared by team members
  • Performing weekly cash flow analysis
  • Managing customer credit and collections
  • Coordinating insurance services including annual renewal and employee support
  • Leading ad hoc financial projects and initiatives

Education / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • At least six years of accounting experience in a medium sized organization ($25M-$75M) including a minimum of:
  • 2 years in month end close
  • 2 years in financial reporting
  • 2 years in tax and audit
  • 1 year in credit and collections
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP accounting system
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate tax knowledge (corporate income tax and sales tax)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • A professional, positive, and proactive attitude

 

Nice to Have

  • CPA designation or be in the final stages of the CPA program
  • Advanced tax knowledge
