Octave, delivers market-leading enterprise software that helps industrial customers design, build, operate, and safeguard mission-critical assets. As we prepare to become a publicly traded standalone SaaS company by 2026, India—anchored by our Global Capability Center in Hyderabad—will play an increasingly strategic role in our success.
We are seeking a Director of HR Business Partnership who will serve as a key member of Octave’s global HR leadership team. This transformational leader will shape and execute the people strategy for one of our most critical regions, partnering across geographies and functions to build the organizational capability required to scale a global SaaS business.
Beyond expertise, we are looking for a leader who is hands on and leads from the front, is approachable, fair, trustworthy, and builds strong, enduring relationships with stakeholders anchored on leading practice execution. The ideal candidate understands the dynamics of a SaaS and industrial-tech environment and thrives in a high-growth, matrixed global organization.
1. HRBP Leadership for India
- Review current state of the organization against the Global Business and People strategy to determine the transformational strategy. Prioritise initiatives and their execution to bring the India business in line with the rest of the world.
- Lead the HRBP operating model, capability roadmap, and impact metrics for India within a global structure. This includes executing the organizational design; restructuring; workforce capacity and succession planning; leadership effectiveness and coaching; culture transformation and change management; employee experience and retention strategy
- Mentor and inspire a high-performing HRBP team that supports India’s 2,000+ employee base.
- Model leadership that is visible, trusted, fair, and highly approachable.
- Requires seamless collaboration with both local HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in India and global HR partners (Global HRBPs, Global CoEs) and India leadership team.
- Act as a consultant, coach, and change agent to drive organizational effectiveness, talent management, and a high-performance, inclusive culture.
2. Strategic Business Partnership & Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary people advisor to India leadership, aligning talent priorities with business strategy.
- Drive initiatives in operational “exceptions” reductions, workforce optimization review and succession planning, leadership development, culture, and retention.
- Influence decisions with data, insights, and strong business and SaaS-domain acumen.
- Build trusted relationships across all levels and maintain a high-integrity employee experience.
3. Global COE Partnership & Governance
- Ensure coordination and communication across the regional and global COE programs—Total Rewards, L&D, Talent Acquisition, Talent Mgmt, HR Operations, and D&I—in India.
- Ensure cohesive delivery of enterprise initiatives that strengthen organizational capability.
- Maintain strong governance, policy alignment, and risk mitigation consistent with regional and global standards.
Education / Qualifications
- 15++ years of HR experience, including 8+ years in senior HR Business Partnering and HRBP team leadership role with a GCC (Global Capability Center) or a large Software Solution Multi National Company setup in India.
- Master's degree (MBA/PGDM) in Human Resources from a premier institution.
- Proven success in transformational change projects in a leading practice SaaS Software company
- Proven success operating in matrixed, high-growth global environments, ideally in SaaS or enterprise technology, demonstrating ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across different geographies and cultures.
- Expertise in org design, change management, workforce strategy, and leadership development.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy global HR programs at scale.
- Strong business acumen, analytical capability, and experience influencing senior leaders.
- Track record of shaping people strategy tied to business performance.
- Deep expertise in Indian Labor Laws, statutory compliance, and best people practices
- Drive Employee engagement initiatives to improve the overall engagement and enable of people in the organization.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing guidance on disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, and internal investigations, always ensuring a fair and consistent approach compliant with Indian law
- Shape, champion, and protect the desired organizational culture within the organization, driving employee engagement initiatives and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion programs.
- Bridge the gap between global standards and local requirements, offering feedback and best practices from the India setup to influence the design of global HR policies.
