Responsibilities
Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Senior Accountant.
This position requires individuals to perform moderately complex accounting assignments following established procedures in areas such as financial reporting, intercompany accounting general ledger, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, accounts payable, sales commission, royalty accounting, fixed assets, and tax reporting. Individuals in this position exercise judgement within defined guidelines and require minimal supervision and assistance on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
- Performs monthly financial close tasks associated with their specific area of responsibility.
- Utilizes financial systems for tasks.
- Prepares standard and nonstandard journal entries and general ledger account analyses.
- May assist with preparation of financial statements, summaries, and reports.
- Provides documentation for and performs walkthroughs with external auditors.
- May participate in implementation or upgrades of financial and other systems.
- Possesses an understanding of IFRS and local accounting regulations as they relate to their position.
- Capable of performing Accountant tasks.
- Depending on the specific area of responsibility, additional job duties may include the following:
- Posts and reconciles global cash pool netting.
- Reconciles daily cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepares reports such as DSO, Aged Receivables, and Aged Unbilled Receivables.
- Reviews customer orders and contracts for proper invoicing and revenue recognition.
- Calculates, accrues, and facilitates payment of sales commissions and bonuses.
- Performs accounting for royalties in compliance with agreements including accruals, payments, and reporting.
- Manages sales tax exemption status of customers using third-party tools, reconciles the billing of sales tax, and reports and remits sales tax.
- Sets up general ledger accounts and departments, manages posting of general ledger journal entries, and ensures completeness.
- Performs accounting of intercompany transactions in accordance with financial reporting requirements and reconciles with intercompany partners
- Assists in tax return preparation.
