Responsibilities

Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role will play a key role in strengthening our financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance capabilities within a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment. 

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting and SEC reporting experience, thrives in a collaborative setting, and is eager to take ownership of complex accounting matters while partnering cross-functionally across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

Prepare the Forms 10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases, and other SEC filings, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations 

Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, cash flow statements, and statements of stockholders’ equity, including supporting workpapers 

Serve as a technical accounting resource for the Company, supporting complex accounting areas including equity, stock-based compensation, leases, EPS, and impairments 

Research, interpret, and document technical accounting matters, including preparing technical accounting memos and position papers for complex and non-routine transactions 

Support accounting policy initiatives, including drafting, updating, and implementing accounting policies and new accounting standards 

Monitor new and proposed accounting pronouncements and assess impacts to financial statements, disclosures, and business processes 

Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits 

Partner with internal audit and business teams to support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, documentation, testing, and remediation activities 

Support SEC filing preparation in Workiva, including document updates, tie-outs, and XBRL tagging 

Assist in preparation of audit committee, management, and board-level reporting materials 

Support the Company’s non-routine transaction review process, serving as a technical advisor to business, legal, tax, and finance partners 

Participate in M&A activities, including purchase accounting, technical research, and transaction integration support 

Perform periodic technical accounting work related to goodwill, intangible assets, and long-lived asset impairment testing 

Support equity accounting, including stock-based compensation, valuation coordination, and disclosure preparation 

Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation 

Perform ad hoc projects and special analyses as requested

 

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required) 

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting and SEC reporting 

Big 4 public accounting experience required 

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls 

Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in a public company environment 

Experience with complex accounting areas such as equity, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, impairments, and debt 

Experience with Workiva preferred 

M&A experience a plus 

Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
