Responsibilities
We are looking for a Principal Data Engineering Consultant to lead the development of a robust, scalable data platform for Hexagon Mining products. This role involves designing and implementing components across the entire data pipeline—from ingestion to transformation, storage, and delivery to the Data Analytics and Applications Platform (DAAP). You will work with cutting-edge technologies to enable advanced analytics and decision-making for the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop a cloud-native data platform to support Hexagon Mining products.Build and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery to DAAP.Implement data integration solutions ensuring seamless connectivity across systems and applications.Collaborate with product teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.Ensure data quality, security, and compliance throughout the pipeline.Develop and maintain technical documentation for data architecture, processes, and standards.Continuously evaluate and adopt modern data stack tools to improve performance and scalability.Provide accurate work estimates and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders.Adhere to Hexagon’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participate in audits and comply with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others.
Education / Qualifications
• B.Tech in Computer Science or relevant field
Must Have-
• Understanding of the principles, tools and programs required for data engineering, reporting, analytics, visualisation and/or machine learning.
• Experience analysing data and with data engineering projects.
• Experience working with data pipelines.
• Experience with coding such as SQL, NoSQL, Python, DBT models.
• Experience in writing and maintaining technology and data documentation
Good to Have-
• Experience working with data standards that have been defined
• Experience conducting data analysis and preparing report
• Experience with data lakes and data lake tools
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience in working with data warehouses and data lakes.
• Experience with Linux commands.
