Responsibilities
The IT Policy & Process Intern will support initiatives that help advance IT policy and process improvements aligned with business and technical objectives. This role provides hands-on exposure to how enterprise IT policies are developed, maintained, and improved within a global organization.
The intern will work closely with IT leadership, regional IT teams, and subject matter experts to assist with policy documentation, process analysis, and continuous improvement activities. This position offers meaningful responsibility, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to real-world IT governance and risk initiatives.
- Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of IT policies, standards, and procedures
- Support policy and process improvement initiatives through research, documentation, and analysis
- Help collect and analyze data related to process performance, risk reduction, and compliance
- Participate in internal audits, assessments, and gap analyses against established frameworks
- Coordinate with multi-functional and multi-national teams to gather input and requirements
- Support project planning, tracking, and reporting for IT policy and process initiatives
- Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for IT leadership and stakeholders
Learning Opportunities
- Exposure to enterprise IT governance, risk management, and compliance practices
- Hands-on experience with industry frameworks such as ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST, and CMMC
- Experience working in a global IT organization with virtual teams
- Mentorship from experienced IT and security professionals
Education / Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field
- Strong interest in IT policy, process improvement, risk management, or governance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze information and document processes clearly and accurately
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
- Coursework or exposure to IT governance, risk, or security concepts
- Familiarity with policy/process frameworks (ITIL, ISO, NIST)
- Experience with documentation, auditing, or project coordination
