Overview
We are hiring a Cloud Networks & Security Engineer who can provide hands-on technical network & security expertise and ownership of the growing cloud application suite, using the Oracle public cloud platform. You will work closely with our software development groups, global InfoSec/OpsSec team, and our Cloud Operations team, to help secure systems and applications, used by all Cloud customers.
The Cloud Networks & Security Engineer provides cloud security expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of application solutions and architectures to secure application and system deployments.
Additionally, the Cloud Networks & Security Engineer assists in the development of requirements including secure software design, secure application deployment, secure identity management, as well as providing monitoring and oversight for alerts and vulnerabilities in this environment.
You will be...
- Securing application delivery on Oracle Cloud as well as having some knowledge of Azure and/or AWS public cloud platforms.
- Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on Cloud networking and security, including secure software deployment, vulnerability management, and application security event management and triage.
- Participating in projects that apply the company’s security policies and standards for use in cloud environments.
- Communicating security concepts to different audiences ranging from business leaders to engineers.
- Comfortable serving in a consultant capacity to less-knowledgeable stakeholders. Serving as a key subject matter expect in support of securing custom applications both from development and traditional network security perspectives.
- Mentoring and influencing multi-disciplinary teams in implementing secure application design and vulnerability remediation.
- Developing standards, policies, and procedures as well as best practices documentation.
- Translating technical requirements into business requirements.
- Undergoing ongoing training to update appropriate Public Cloud security skills and knowledge.
Competencies
- Strong Application, Networking, & Cloud Security experience.
- Previous experience working in Oracle Cloud environments.
- Knowledgeable in firewall technology, including WAF.
- Experience of automation & remediation of security items using code, preferred, but not essential.
- Experience of vulnerability management tools.
- Strong understanding of penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience with application pipelines and integrating security in the CI/CD process.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP stack and OSI model.
- Network/Security certifications a strong plus.
- Oracle Cloud certifications preferred, but not essential.
- Fluent English speaker.
