Responsibilities

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division (Hexagon) is seeking a Director, Cloud Solutions for its Public Safety business in a remotely based position in the US. The Director, Cloud Solutions will report directly to the VP, Technology & Innovation and work closely with leaders in Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Customer Support, and Project Implementation teams. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing the cloud vision and strategy across the Public Safety portfolio, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep expertise in cloud technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into cloud-enabled solutions. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, ensuring governance, and enabling the successful adoption of cloud practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
•    Facilitate the adoption of cloud best practices across the organization.
•    Develop and implement cloud adoption strategies that align with business objectives.
•    Ensure cloud solutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and resilient.
•    Review and validate architectural designs to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
•    Define and enforce cloud governance policies, processes, and standards.
•    Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
•    Manage cloud resources to ensure optimal performance and availability.
•    Monitor and maintain the reliability, performance, and lifecycle of cloud services.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, application, and business teams) to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver cloud solutions.
•    Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding cloud initiatives, progress, risks, and challenges.
•    Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to inform strategy and innovation.
•    Identify opportunities for innovation and lead the implementation of new cloud capabilities.
•    Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud services, processes, and operational excellence.
•    Ensure cloud infrastructure and applications meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
•    Implement and maintain industry-leading cloud security practices.

Education / Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
•    10+ years of experience in IT with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing cloud operations or architecture.
•    Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•    Strong understanding of cloud architecture, governance, security, and cost optimization practices.
•    Experience driving large-scale cloud adoption and transformation initiatives.
•    Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions.
•    Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
