Responsibilities

Hexagon’s SIG Division is looking for a Senior Front End Developer to join the team. The Senior Front-End Developer will be responsible for the design, implementation, technical documentation, and maintenance of components of application software that supports our Public Safety product suite. This application suite is a web-based set of solutions that support the Public Safety market by providing dispatching and records management capabilities.

The focus of this position will be the implementation and maintenance of software to support analysis and reporting on data generated within the Public Safety product suite. This includes coding, unit test development, automated test development, and supporting the development of user documentation. The candidate will work in a high-performance agile/scrum team of mixed disciplines, participate in design and development discussions, create software according to requirements, implement automated testing methods, diagnose failures, and assist in reviewing documentation to verify correctness.
 
  • BS in Computer Science or related degree required
  • Ten years’ experience in front-end web application development (including technologies such as JavaScript and React)
  • Software development of web-based applications
  • Application deployment and hosting in Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments
  • Debugging applications and identifying root cause of software defects

 

Education / Qualifications

Tools/Languages:
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • React - at least 3 years of hands on experience
  • HTML
  • General Windows command line/PowerShell skills
  • Web APIs (REST)
  • Web sockets (SignalR)
  • Modern JavaScript technologies: TypeScript, React, Observables, CSS, State Management, Immutability
  • Modern browser functionality: dynamic imports, service workers, web and shared workers, broadcast channels
  • Modern JavaScript build tools: Nx, WebPack, Module Federation, deploying web assets
  • Electron
  • Development tools: Git, Azure DevOps, Build Pipelines
  • Modern JavaScript testing environments: Jest, Playwright, Storybook.
