Responsibilities

Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to successfully complete the below responsibilities:

  • Overseeing General Ledger Functions: This includes managing and maintaining the general ledger, overseeing closing processes, preparing and reviewing ledger entries and reconciliations, and ensuring timely submission of account reconciliations with explanations for variances. They will also participate in audits of financial processes with internal and external auditors. 
  • Manage Accounts Payable Group: Duties will include management oversight for Accounts Payable department.  Will need to function as check signer, as needed, approve wire requests, and approve check requests, within the approval matrix limits. 
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports and conducting financial analysis to identify trends or variances for analysis. 
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manager will lead and manage accounting teams, providing guidance, training, and managing hiring and development while fostering collaboration. 
  • Process Improvement and Compliance: They develop and implement efficient accounting processes, handle regulatory changes, modify systems for compliance, and ensure adherence to GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. They will also manage upkeep of internal control narratives and assist with maintaining updated accounting policies. 
  • Collaboration and Communication: This involves collaborating with other departments, supporting financial planning, communicating accounting process changes, and contributing to the Senior Management Team.

Education / Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or CMA designation preferred. 

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience with Great Plains is desired, and advanced Excel proficiency is a must. 

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP and financial reporting standards is essential, along with experience in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.  

  • Soft Skills: Key soft skills include excellent communication, strong leadership and team management abilities, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. A proactive attitude and focus on process improvement are also valued.
