Responsibilities

As the Technical Lead, you will have two main streams to focus on:

  • Be the Hexagon’s product specialist and the technical reference on solution implementations in the region, coaching and owning the delivery of services towards to the deployment of sustainable and good quality solutions according to the agreed contracts, plans, frameworks and design.
  • Be the team lead of small technical team, guiding them to deliver according to the agreed plans and frameworks.

As Technical Lead your primary role is to define, design, configure and implement Hexagon’s applications to meet customer acceptance. You will achieve this by utilising approved implementation and configuration methodologies, supporting project managers on technical decisions, using your knowledge on best practices in the industry along with critical thinking skills, the ability to maintain customer relationships on-site and by leveraging your experience engaging with customers to achieve an effective and desirable position for both parties. 
You will be responsible for such operational tasks and strategies, fit-for-customer purpose reviews, pre-sales assistance, leasing with other functional groups within Hexagon and acting as a point of escalation for your team. You will have the ability to collaborate across the business at different levels; ensuring that you work seamlessly with sales, customer experience and delivery teams for the successful delivery of solutions is critical to this role.

 

OBJECTIVES / MAIN ACTIVITES

Develop, improve, and use Quality, Cyber Security, System Build, Testing and Transition plans to meet contractual commitments including time frame, quality and cost dimensions. You are required to:

  • Develop a broad understanding of all Hexagon products, services, and markets, as well as staying abreast of all new releases and products; maintain awareness of constantly changing software systems; act as Hexagon SME
  • With this broad knowledge and understanding of Hexagon’s solutions, develop end-to-end solution architecture for customer solutions
  • Play a leading role in the design, specification
  • Assure the alignment of the proposed solutions through planning, implementation and execution.
  • Lead and mentor technical team through collaboration to meet project and delivery deadlines.
  • Submit all project work and in-progress updates in a timely manner.
  • Pro-actively identify blockers, challenges and risks and take steps to close issues and make quick but informed decisions within deadlines.
  • Define and deliver configuration requirements to customers.
  • Gather and translate business and technical requirements.
  • Understand customers' diverse, specific business needs and apply product knowledge to meet those needs.
  • Actively participate in software configuration planning and management.
  • Configure and implement the applications at the expected high quality.
  • Proactively communicate all design, build, testing and quality risks, assumptions and dependencies for timely escalation.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities as required; assist in the preparation of quotations and tender process responses such as EOI’s, RFT’s, RFQ’s as required.
  • Support the implementation and upholding of architectural governance controls across the SDLC and project management frameworks
  • Writing technical documentation.
  • Conduct training sessions and run customer workshops as required.
  • Assess, recognise and flag the impact of decisions taken across other functional areas (including implementation, testing, development, CX and so on) with Leadership and Senior Leadership Teams.
    Ensure the team follows Hexagon’s process.

Education / Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Software Engineering/Computer Science or similar relevant discipline
  • Previous experience in similar roles or software vendors
  • Previous experience in leading small technical teams would be advantageous
  • Certification in SAFe, Microsoft, Citrix, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar databases will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of .NET is preferred. 
  • Minimum 7 year' experience as Solution Architect or similar
  • Management/coordination of teams
  • Leadership training and experience
  • Experience in selling, architecting, and delivering cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of operational workflows within public safety would be advantageous
  • Cloud, Infrastructure and/or architecture knowledge is highly desirable
  • Business Analysis skills would be advantageous
