Overview
Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Senior Accountant.
This role reports to the Financial Controller for the Nordic region. It is a hands-on accounting role to support the production of the books and records of the legal entity of the Finland business. The role is hybrid working and is based in the Oulu office.
The successful applicant will have previous experience in payroll and finance admin. You will be responsible for the payroll of 38 employees as at current levels) as well as related reporting, audit and tax year end requirements. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the finance admin tasks for the entity to ensure that accounting control is maintained, and the results are reported to group in a timely manner.
Payroll:
- Preparing payroll for the legal entity and communicating with the payroll provider.
- Checking returned data and providing analysis of the payroll cost for approval.

Responsibilities
Accounting:
- Support the preparation of the annual accounts.
- Lead the annual audit work including providing audit requests.
- Posting of all transactions including payable invoices, bank transactions etc.
- Intercompany confirmations and reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed assets including additions, disposals and running monthly depreciation.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review of opex costs.
- Supplementary schedules in the consolidation system.
- Reporting statistics for the entity to Statistics Finland.
- Preparation and submission of the VAT return.
- Company tax return and liaising with the tax office.
- Managing credit control including preparing any bad det provision.
- Databasics (expense system) superuser.
Other:
- Liaising with the landlord on any office issues.
- Ordering office supplies.
- Dealing with any post that is delivered to the office.
Education / Qualifications
- A good understanding of payroll legislation and keeping up to date with changes.
- English language is essential.
- Good excel skills.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy with attention to detail.
